We had an HP printer scanner that worked fine until...a firmware update corruption. HP said to reset the porinrter to factor defaults with a few key strokes. That worked to reset the printer but...the firmware was what needed to be reset. HP disappeared after the first suggestion. OK, a new printer seems to be in order and not an HP. I have a Brother HL-L2140 that's worked for ever. We looked at printer scanners and settled on the HL-L2390DW. It has automatic double sided printing, the HL2140 was manual.
