There are better choices in the area, for sure. Upon arriving to a completely empty clinic for my 2pm appointment, I had to wait a half an hour for the vet to return from lunch! Also, they will not deal with outside pharmacies and will not price match other pharmacies prices, so do not come here if you like to have options. I was not aware of this when I went (who would think such a thing?) and now am stuck with no medication for my dog. Our Junebug had a persistent cough, and we had gotten a really nice letter from Hyde Park Veterinary Clinic for a FREE examination of a new pet. They are 6 doors from my house so we HAD to try them out, even though we had taken our Junebug to another vet for years. You can't walk-in there, which we tried....we came back two days later with an appointment. I wouldn't say the front staff is warm and friendly: they are more 'professional' than that. I had a horrific experience here. Mind you I am an experienced pet owner who has been to all manner of vets all across the country, and I have never been treated as horribly as I was treated at this "highly recommended" vet. I adopted a 30-pound spaniel mixed breed dog who was about 2 years old. A few days after I got her I wanted to take her to the vet to get her checked out. I've only been to the clinic twice, but for my experience, it was two times too many! I felt like Melissa kept trying to up-sell me everything, and never let me know how much things cost. For example, I asked her about why my dog was scratching (if it was fleas or just dry skin) and instead of educating me and simply answering my question - she is like here is a prescription for X and Y, you should use this bath shampoo, and he should take these pills (for dry skin) and ran me an expensive bill!!
