Quiet pump I purchased this from Pool Supply World and just had it installed. The motor hums. Only problem was VSP pump set up instruction for Aqualink OneTouch was not straight forward. This pump is to be registered as epump via System Menu first. From there it was straight forward. It works beautifully now.

This pump comes with coarse threads. My 2005 Jandy Stealth pump that I was replacing has fine threads. This is a considerable problem. Otherwise, the new pump is much quieter. I also had to either update my Aqualinks controller at $475 or buy the Jandy ePump controller for $151 in order to get the variaable speed to work. I chose the latter and it works perfectly.
Electric Housing The pump was easy to install as it was a one for one replacement of an old pump. I ordered the pump on line and when it arrived the electrical housing had been damaged. The metal where electric enters the housing was busted at the inserts. Not a lot of padding in the box to protect the pump to prevent this from happening.
