I had another house lined up for purchase in July 2020. BankSouth let us know 3 business days prior to purchase that they would not make the loan due to a city sewer line running underneath the structure of the house. They had all of the material to make that determination 4 weeks prior to closure. We had obviously made all kinds of moving arrangements that had to be cancelled. That could’ve been avoided. I’m grateful they made that tough call, but it should’ve been a few weeks earlier.
