Seating was terrible. With reservations and the restaurant being not overly busy we were seated at a tiny 2 person table despite many booths being available. We asked for a better table which made the host blink like we were difficult and then sat us at a booth with seats that were ripped and uncomfortable. Kinda set a bad vibe for the rest of the night. We will stick to Earls in the future
Service was okay. Drinks were okay. Margarita was good, ordered a super stoked cherry coke and they made something else that did not taste good. I told the manager that the nail under the bar snagged and ripped a hole in my pants when I crossed my legs and she said sorry… and that’s it. So I walked away with a full belly, but ripped pants. 😅
We usually love joeys. However last night was terrible. We got seated in a corner. No server came for at least 20min. When one finally stopped at our table, she wasn’t our server. She just noticed nobody had helped us. She was kind enough to take our order. Service was slow, my husband coffee was cold, and he didn’t get cream or Splenda as requested, and not once was he asked if he’d like a refill. Came for my husband birthday but the food was lacking. The server was too slow and I repeated for many things and was never provided and had to ask a different server. Water was always out and the server only checked on us once. Spent over $325 here. Will not come back
I am a frequent guest at Joey Shipyards and have always had wonderful experiences there, but my visit to the Coquitlam location today was incredibly upsetting. From the start, the server didn't even offer us the complimentary sparkling wine that is usually given to guests upon arrival. Throughout the meal, our water glasses remained empty for a long time, and the server never once checked in to see how the food was. The only time they spoke to us was to ask if we wanted the bill. The waitress had too many tables and we waited 15 minutes before saying something to a manager as no one came to offer us a drink and take our order. Then we had a drink order mixed up and the main course meal was mixed up and we were brought something else. We will not be back to this location.
Our waiter messed up our order which is okay things happen. But the noise was unbearable, having to yell to talk to my partner right beside me is very annoying. Along side that the salmon with mashed potatoes for $36 was a very tiny portion. I left absolutely starving (I am a bigger male with a bigger appetite but I don’t leave restaurants hungry 9 times out of 10). Really enjoyed our first experience there but had a different one the second time around
First time there- we won’t be back. Poor value for money. At their price point, Service and food were not up to par. Very very mid.

It is disheartening to see that despite Canada’s economic downturn resulting in a scarcity of minimum wage jobs, JOEY Coquitlam still maintains their rock bottom hiring bar. We waited an hour for our food while our server, Alyssa (or Alissa/Elissa), socialized with coworkers and watched the hockey game.
