I wasn’t able to use my gift card. This was the reason for visiting the restaurant.
Food is always so amazing but service is so dreadful. They had a technical issue and in my experience the service was the same as before the tech issue. Landsdowne service definitely is much better, hopefully this feedback helps encourage a change, I hate to not support the Rideau location.
I ordered a starter and a main course. The main course came first then about 30 seconds later the starter. As they were both hot I had to eat both dishes at the same time
We had reservations but was told when seated we could not have a booth for 1/2 hrso was seated at a large round table for 4. Informed the waitress that a couple that came after us was seated at a booth and we had to wait for 1/2 hr. Informed waitress to speak to floor manager - discussed this situation with the floor manager. Who quickly rectified us with a booth and drinks on the house.
After Reservation Booked and checked in still waited at front for 30 mins for Table.
Overall the experience was poor. Food was acceptable but expensive for the quality and unfortunately the kitchen missed 2 out of 6 meals. The staff did not appear to take any urgent steps to correct, this making the guests wait an additional 20 minutes before receiving the main courses ordered. Drink orders took a while to arrive. Simple items like beer and wine. Overall this is a very expensive place to dine for poor quality. Our table for 6 was awkwardly laid out making conversation difficult.
I have to say we have always loved our experience at Joey’s, which is why we have come back multiple times to the location in Ottawa and Toronto Last night was one of the worst service experiences I’ve had in a long time. Our server was lazy, rude, seemed bothered, approached our table to take our order with multiple dirty dishes in her other hand, laid her iPad down on our table and didn’t even look at us. Wine was served in dirty glass they replaced upon request but no compensation Waited close to an hour for main after app. Table beside us seated after us had their food before us Chicken parm barely any parm spaghetti was lumped and stuck together
I don’t know how many times we made a point via reservation and calling in advance that it was a special occasion birthday and to treat the group nicely. They had terrible service, there was no attention and may delays in even having server come and bring items or check on th em. No service with a smile. One dish came with a hair in it, another dish was undercooked.
