Had a wonderful time. Saw so many animals close to their natural habitat. John ball is a no waste Zoo! Took about three hours to go through. Definitely a must when in Grand Rapids!

Based on our experience today. This zoo deserves a 4/5 ⭐️ rating! Why 4 stars? This place has so much to offer, activities hands on, and animal interactions for children and adults! Multiple parks for the kids. Animals I’ve never even seen before at any other zoo! Why not 5 stars? Well, when you think of “zoo” you think of, elephants, zebras, giraffes etc. they had none of those. They have to build on that African safari. Also pizza was bad! I paid $25 for a 16” pizza and it wasn’t fresh. However, overall it was a great time... read more

Most animals seemed a little depressed, sleeping, a little sad for some of the larger animals like the bear. My house for 4 humans was larger than his space. No grass/foliage or running clean water all cement and no room to run. Seemed to be the case for a lot. Some birds barely had room to fly. Kept wondering if some get to go to a larger area after hours? We were just in Florida the difference in color with flamingos was insane they were almost white. Such a wonderful day. It’s a terrific park with great use of space. The tiger activity was the best!! And....the Lego exhibit was unexpected and amazing.

The changes that were made are awesome!! It is more natural, more shade, more room for people to move around as well as new animal environments!! What do I recommend? I recommend you go see it for yourself not take my word for it. 😁. You’ll love it!!
