Everything was smooth sailing until it came to the financial part. We were asked multiple times for forms that were already sent. On top of being asked for items the very last second before we close when this could have been handled weeks ago. We love the house we are in now but the financial department needs help.

Communication. We were emailing and calling the person we started the finance process with and never received a response. My finance person no longer worked at KB and no one bothered to tell us. It was through our complaining to team members in other areas that John even reached out to us and even with all of the aggravation up to that point John was less than interested in making things right. He offered little to know help, infact, he really didn’t seem to want to do right by us at all.

John never Provided accurate information, a document was not reviewed for almost two months which cost us a USDA mortgage and put us into a conventional mortgage at a higher interest rate. Had he looked at the doc 2 months earlier we would of had a much lower interest rate and saved $100-$200 per moth on our payments. We were finally told we had to move loan products the number that were provided were not accurate and seemed to change by the day... our payment went $1550 to 1750 in 1 week!

I thought John and I had good communication up until the end. John did not communicate with me that he hadn't locked in my rate till the Friday before I believed I was closing on the following Monday. Because my rate had not been locked in, I no longer qualified due to the debt to income ratio. I became upset because I was told all this at the last minute and not given a full reason as to why my rate wasn't locked in earlier. Melanie Atkins stepped in and assisted with the final steps.

If you would have given me options to lock in the first quoted interest rate on my mortgage would have been great. I was not given the name of the person or authority of who made the decision as to why I did not qualify to receive the 1% teachers interest. Is this only for AZ teachers? Why? Why such a rush on a quick sale? We missed a number of work days dealing with paper work. Things could have been more specific the first time around. The HOA charges!
