I am 62 years old and over the last 15 years, I have had multiple personal orthopedic situations as well as mom of four who all played sports so I have met and worked with a lot of doctors. He is one of the best doctors I have ever met from my first visit listening to the problem (which had been ignored, or improperly diagnosed for years), his empathy was outstanding, his personality and bedside manner uplifting, and more importantly, his diagnosis and immediate surgical repair has finally made my life so much better. Dr. Taliaferro was thorough in explaining why knee replacement was a good option for me and what I could expect.

I saw Dr. Taliaferro for the first time. He was very thorough and explained my situation in a way that was easy to understand. I really liked that his first course of action was not to recommend surgery but to try things that are less invasive. I didn’t feel that he was rushing through my diagnosis or my visit. I was very pleased. He was very helpful.

While the surgery went well and lasted for quite a long time, the attempts to communicate with my wife was unacceptable. Despite going to the desk repeatedly to check on progress, she did not know I was out of surgery until 2 hours after completion. All the front desk would tell her is “he’s still in surgery.” Dr. stated that he left messages, but she received none. A little more effort to communicate, even if he actually had to take the time to go to the waiting room, would have been greatly appreciated!

Did not listen. Left me with a broken kneecap and torn patella tendon. Would not listen or want to try and work with me to understand what went wrong after he missed a fragment that was on the xray post op that would have saved me from over 2 years of issues that I have still having. I articulated things very well but he did not only ignore what I was telling him but did not give me the respect to document anything I was telling him to refer back to when we finally did find there was a problem.

I went back to office for follow ups and concerns about still being in pain. He looked at my knee and said I shouldn’t be in pain cause I have a brand new knee. No further X-rays or follow up appointments just not concerned. My surgery was 8/3/22 still having sleepless nights every night as of this writing 12/21/23.
