Excellent professional with a great deal of competence and skill in cardiology.
At 5:00 am, on August 2015, I recognized a couple signs of a possible heart attack. I swallowed a couple of aspirins & I, foolishly, drove myself to Holy Cross ER. Got to ER at about 6:05a. After a brief 2 minute wait, was escorted to a room and swarmed by 8-10 very pleasant staff. In 10 minutes I was prepped & wheeled into a operating room Where Dr. Purow (pronounced - Pure-oh) was already waiting for me. After a short nap & 2 stents ...Done! Back to work 3 days later. Fast office visits!
My first visit with Dr. Purow was fine. He was on time, spent time with me, explained things, and I felt he was very thorough.
If I could leave zero stars, I would. I do not recommend this provider if you are a woman. The office visit was uncomfortable as the stethoscope was used inappropriately. Aside from a few tests that only showed rhythms in the moment, despite my telling him the tachycardia was random, he dismissed me saying I'm just a woman and these symptoms are likely more exaggerated as a result. Unfortunately Dr Purow has trouble listening to his patients. Both my husband (who is now in hospice with acute heart failure) and I have been frustrated trying to get Dr Purow to believe our symptoms and act on them. My husband finally had to DEMAND an echocardiogram and by then he was at 10%ef and it was too late. Sad. . I have no patience for arrogance and ego, particularly when lives are at stake. Our story is documented and I would be happy to tell more if I felt it would change Drs.
