Over all I got the feeling that the process was very disorganized. We always sent and signed what was asked of us to sign in a timely manner. It just seemed like every day was needing more evidence or more info on something. I’m not an expert on this but I feel like if this is something that you probably 1000s of a year then you would know exactly why was needed from us from the beginning. Comstantly requesting additional information. Urgent Last minute request when thought was all done by email at 6 pm Sunday before all-day international travel next day. A phone call advising it was there would have been appreciated. Had I not seen it that night would have likely not made it to closing as planned.

We originally set up what we thought was a meeting to understand how mortgages work and how to apply for one, what factors affect it, etc. Instead we got a pre-approval that we didn't realize was happening, so we hadn't filled out the info properly. We never fully understood the process as first time home buyers, but it worked out in the end.

During the loan process, there seemed to be a lot of last-minute work and a lot of information that was asked for several times after we had turned in the documents. In the future, I would hope that this process would be finished a few days before closing instead of emails being sent at 8 pm the night before closing asking for new information. Because of the last-minute work we had to push the closing time which was less than ideal since this date and time had been set over a month ago
