Dr. Erik Barnes and his wife, Tina, started the Kenai Veterinary Clinic as a part-time practice in 1963. It was located in his A-frame home on the bluff 20 miles north of Kenai. Dr. Dan Lavach, a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology, purchased the practice from Dr. Barnes in 1977 and moved it to mile 16.4 on the north Kenai road. RecommendedMy Marley was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. Dr. McCartan thoroughly discussed treatment options, outcomes, and expectations with us. The staff there ask how he's doing even when I call about one of our other animals. He's been receiving great care and his siblings have, too. I appreciate Dr. McCartan, Dr. Gruber, and Dr. Wisneiwski so very much. They've provided excellent, competent care for our fur babies.
The Entire staff of the Kenai Vet Hospital are compassionate, friendly and professional. They went above expectations during the loss of our Boy MAJOR PAIN. They sent a bereavement card after we drop him off for cremation. And when I picked him up there was a cast of one of his paws done in plaster. Brought me to tears. Bless you all.
Thank you for your kindness with my Toto; for a shelter dog he was an awesome friend with a gentle soul. The care you've given throughout his life, 16 years 10 months, was exemplified to him at the end.
