This place exemplifies everything I hate about west LA. Loud music, overpriced coffee, and the espresso was burned making for one miserable, acidic-tasting coffee. This was a while ago so maybe the drinks have gotten better-but I guarantee the prices haven't. Last Saturday- After waiting over 15-20 min for my latte, I struggled to get the attention of any of the rude staff who avoid eye contact and ignore everyone. The cashier finally told me I could just take an oatmeal instead since someone else probably took it and as I'm leaving they scream my drink is ready. My 11 year old daughter goes to get it and they accidentally splash hot foam in her face all laugh. Ironic that it's called "kind cafe".
I just want to say that there is so much unprofessionalism with the Glendale location. I love the drinks from La La, and been to other locations. First, I noticed that they had employees pretend to be customers in what appears to be major damage control. Nate Herrera is a CURRENT lead there. Ella Sweeney works there, Anna V is a current employee. And they all pretended to be customers. Would taste so much better if it didn't take an entire hour of my life to get a drink. I heard from a former employee, the staff is instructed by corporate to only have one person at the register if there is a line... interesting choice. I also heard that the staff is encouraged to ignore the customers, kinda ironic considering all the "Be kind" merch. Also 90% of the time I place a mobile order, they simply don't make it. I've always loved La La Land Café--the coffee tastes amazing, the vibe is unique, and I usually prefer it over Starbucks any day. But unfortunately, my visit today left me really disappointed. I stopped in during a walk, hoping to grab a quick coffee, and ended up waiting almost 25 minutes for a simple drink. That's just not acceptable for a to-go order. Went to La La land and the matcha tasted watery. Waited 30 minutes for my drink. They should wear gloves btw seen them prepared the toast without . Exploitive.
Matcha here was absolutely terrible. Tasted like nothing but milk. No flavor. No matcha flavor came thru. Extremely disappointed. Only good part of this place was the atmosphere. 2/10 never coming back
I found a glittery fake nail chip at the bottom of my matcha--absolutely revolting. Asked for extra milk because I paid for an extra shot and a tall blonde barista gave me the dirtiest look, filled up an entire cup of milk, and then placed it on the counter without saying a word. Wasteful and rude. This is a close-knit neighborhood. Do better.
