Very special dinner!
This place is the best thing going in the Arts District. It has a beautiful atmosphere and the staff is great - always good, friendly service. We had two specials the other night - stuffed squash blossom and swordfish. They were both excellent. The giant prawns however were not good - dry and tough. The Friday night lounge singer was pretty good; he enhanced the whole experience.

This restaurant is fantastic. We went for a special occasion. The ambience was incredible, from the floor to ceiling windows facing the Symphony Hall to the soft glow of the rear bar to the live piano in the corner to the personal greeting from the Italian owner. It was busy without feeling noisy or crowded, what you might call "politely vibrant." The grilled octopus appetizer was bursting with flavor, punctuated by the most savory of olives. Reservation at 7:00 and seated at 7:15, which is no big deal. Seated too close the the singer/piano player and we were unable to have a conversation w/o screaming at one another. Manager asked if we would like for him to lower the volume. “Yes, please”, but he must have forgotten . Ordered a couple of apps and a bottle of wine. Apps came before the wine and we finally got wine at 8:00. The food was delicious and good enough that we will probably give it one more try.
