I'm 43 years old and just wanting to freshen up my tired eyes. I will be awake for this procedure because I do not want to have to deal with the after affect of anesthesia. Blah! I was awake for my tubular essure. So surly I can handle this.

The last week and a half has not been fun. I got a head cold that my hubby and daughter had but were over in 3 days, and here I am almost 2 weeks later and it went into my lungs. 5 weeks post op and coughing is not fun!! I had my post op appointment with my PS on Monday and she is very pleased with how I'm healing. I had a little incision open under my right breast, not sure if it's from the coughing or I may have picked up my toddler a little too soon.. whoops.. not doing that anymore. Progress so far: I am now able to get in and out of bed on my own without wallowing around like a manatee. I can shower on my own, but I do still get worn out at the end. When I work a full day, it takes longer to get worn out, but I am still not my usual independent, strong self. I am sleeping through the night, but I am tired of staying on my back. Just wanted to make a couple of observations. First of all, I am really surprised at how good I feel. I am no longer taking the prescription pain meds and have only taken one Extra Strength Tylenol this morning. My PS did not insert drains, and I do have a little bit of fluid that has built up under each breast. At my first post op appointment yesterday, my PS encouraged me to keep icing that area. Made it through the first week of work!!! I swelled pretty bad by the end of the day, but that's starting to get less. I started out of surgery weighing 164 and now weigh 154. Loving my results so far!
