Just got a unit. Problems with printer made transaction 20 minutes longer than usual. Unit was dirty so I asked for it to be cleaned. I returned the next day and was told that it had been cleaned: wrong . I was given a broom to clean it my gate code didn't work and I had to call for someone to come open the door to unit for me. Too many issues too soon. I selected this business because most reviews commented on how clean the facility is. Hopefully there will be no more issues.
It's true that the location is clean and well maintained. And the staff are nice .... when they are there. But you never know if they will be there. We recently had to go retrieve an important item for a family member who had died. We needed it for the burial, so we really didn't need any additional hassles. We got there around 1:15. We had a problem with our unit and buzzed the office on the intercom. No answer. Thank you for bringing this problem to our attention. Usually our staff is only unavailable for shorter periods of time, when it is required to manage other issues with units, move-ins or move-outs.
We know it's not the Businesses fault but a heads up our unit and many others were broken into this April!! Check your stuff people! Be aware. Unfortunately what they stole is irreplaceable.
If I could give it zero stars I would. The staff is so bad its frustrating, they are never in the office and never answer their phones. I had scheduled a time to come in and make a payment on my lunch break when I came in no one was there. I would come in on a Saturday to make a payment and low and behold there is a sign on the door saying they were out to lunch. I came back an hour later and the same sign would be up. I rented from Whittier Self Storage. At the time of rental, I was told my last month would be prorated and if I got out prior to 5 days into the month, I would not have to pay for the month. I gave notice a month in advance. I still received a bill for the entire month. I paid the month feeling sure that my balance would be refunded as promised. This was a lie! I vacated on August 4th and have still not received my refund. Additionally, they don't respond to my inquiries.
