The service is fine if you can get anyone to actually start the appointment. My last three have a 30-45m wait despite being on time. Clearly a management problem understaffed and over booked meaning a 2 hour appt is suddenly closer to 3 hours or more. Returned a week later and waited an hour for someone to start. Then after telling me the color would be on for 45m it was an hour and 15 later they washed it out, itchy and fried feeling. Wanted to like this place and gave it a few tries to be fair. To start, the people that work there are not trained stylists. All of the times I went, I was left alone in the chair with my scalp burning for an hour after dye was applied and had to find someone to wash it out. After they wash your hair, you are left completely soaked (hair, clothes) with dye all over your forehead, neck, and clothes. It's horrible. If zero stars was an option I would pick that. Nothing about my experience was good. It was actually the worst hair salon experience I have ever had. The colorist just didn't listen to what I wanted to achieve. My natural hair is dark, almost black. she kept showing me light to medium brown colors. The person who rinsed my hair out (michael), soaked me down my back not once but at least 2 times. My back and shirt were soaking wet. I love the service - the colorists are great and everyone is so nice. My issue is with the horrendous playlist at every location. It is just the worst kind of old school pop that I didn't even want to listen to when it came out let alone 20 years later. It's the strangest combination of crappy dance tunes and love songs, neither of which I Need to listen to when I'm getting my hair colored. And it's always loud! First visit to this hair salon because all of my friends said how it was easy - no frills and their hair looked good. Tribeca hasn't been open long, so I figured I could get in for a weekend appt. I have brunette hair and paid for highlights all over. I specifically said no red or orange and skinny highlights- no streaks or fat pieces.
