I was a member for 25 years but when I had my business checkbook stolen, I had to close both my savings and checking accounts. Not realizing one did not get closed, over $300 in overdraft fees were assessed. I asked if they could please work with me to remove them, since I was a new biz owner trying to survive a pandemic, and the fees were electronically assessed, with no actual associated labor. Would not recommend for a home loan. Closed late twice. Poor communication through the whole process and unwilling to work with anyone else’s needs but their own. Complete lack of caring for the buyer.
The branch I go to is very archaic. To deposit cash at the ATM, you have to put your cash in an envelope. My translation is it's not available until the next business day. And poorly understaffed. And no limit on overdraft charges. It's hard enough already!
I've had nothing but problems ever since I created a checking account. I know so many people with this bank and have had no issues. Really frustrating having to go up there multiple times just to fix my account that the trainee made.
This bank is the most difficult and unreasonable establishment that I have ever tried to do business with. I have spent quite a bit of time on the phone , And ultimately had to close my account and go with a more reputable establishment. Please steer clear.
I've had my card locked soooo many times that it's just pointless to even try to use it online, especially on the weekend when nobody will help you. Transaction review department automated service says the card isn't locked, but it just always declines certain types of transactions. My debit card is so unreliable that I just travel with a wad of cash because even calling ahead with travel plans doesn't prevent my card from getting locked, and if it's outside of 1984's banking hours, you're done.

I have been a mainstreet credit union customer since 2002/2003, back when it was Johnson County Credit Union. I will be closing my account today and I will no longer ever recommend this bank again!! They do not care about loyalty, or their customers!! I honestly should have done this years ago after my last issues with them; shame on me for putting my trust in this bank. I will never send another customer here.
Worst customer service in the industry. Never available when you need them and never interested in satisfying their shareholders. Horrible place to do business.
