Very rude servant or owner. After dinner I went from to front desk to ask for tooth pick. While I was asking if they had tooth pick a woman with very bad attitude and very rude almost screaming at me repeatedly " You can not be here you can not be here" I was totally taken back because of her behavior. The manager Roberto is super rude. We ordered appetizers and a main course. The staff brought it out all at once. We come to yoshimattsu at least once a month so we know how it normally goes. We've never once minded waiting for good food. As we ordered Ramen, we didn't want it to get cold. We asked the staff member if she could keep it warm as we finish our appetizers. Staff felt unfriendly and atmosphere was unpleasant. We got constant glares and eye-rolls from our waiter as well as other staff.
Carrots and cucumbers were not julienned. They used unpeeled waxy cucumber chunks. Sushi is too expensive for lazy preparation like this. Sushi rice not cooked well. No paper menus during covid.
First time I visited 2 years ago was awesome. Fast service, great flavorful food. But as each time I visited afterwards it got lesser to my liking. Portion of food is getting smaller and smaller/i always ordered the same thing. the Food takes longer to make and less tasteful:too salty, tasted old. But I kept coming back, hope it's just a hiccup that visit. This time. The food made me sick when I left. I don't think I'll come back for awhile.
There is a waiter yelling at customers today. Yes we see that you are short staffed but that doesn't excuse that kind of behavior. There has been a lot of confusion since the remodel but we have tried to be patient. Generally we are just ignored by the waitstaff at the sushi bar but witnessing this behavior today has made us take our business elsewhere.
Still get high ratings in my book for the food. However, once they closed the nice intimate dining area they lost me. If you want a date night, I don't want a bunch of screaming kids around ruining my experience. Love kids don't get me wrong. Bring back the nice part of this place please!
