My friend and I visited on Saturday night with a reservation and were disappointed with the overall experience. We were seated in a back corner half-booth, which was fine until another couple was placed directly next to us as part of the same booth, despite an existing two-top beside us, that additional table being squeezed in left us bring a foot away from multiple guests making the seating extremely uncomfortable. I enjoyed myself at Mel’s. It has a nice mellow vibe! Music was excellent and the ambiance is all that!
It took over an hour for our drinks to arrive (after ordering them twice) and to order our food. Then it took so long to get our check to close our tab. While the food is so good, this is not the first time my service experience has been so poor. My section of the restaurant wasn’t full and there were a lot other tables empty in the restaurant.
Only could stay for one drink, the place had a weird dirty water or sewer smell to it. Made it very uninviting.
Our server at Mel’s was so unbelievably rude and made our experience very uncomfortable
Everything was good but the chicken wings were to salty
We were hoping this would have been a good experience but it turned out to be awful. We waited for 30 mins or more for our drinks, which were order first, and our server was very hit or miss on taking care of us. I will say, we had the chicken sandwich and it was amazing! It took another 30 mins to get our check unfortunately. The restaurant was not busy at all so I would hate to see what it would be like on a regular day. Mel’s did not live up to the hype!
Not the vibe I expect from speakeasy. Too thumping versus mellow.

Slow service. Tried to bring other food to our table. Confused servers delivering food. Verified order second time. Late for game when we had 5:30pm reservation. It was busy but it seemed the delay was from service confusion vs kitchen.
