It took over an hour for our drinks to arrive (after ordering them twice) and to order our food. Then it took so long to get our check to close our tab. While the food is so good, this is not the first time my service experience has been so poor. My section of the restaurant wasn’t full and there were a lot other tables empty in the restaurant.
Only could stay for one drink, the place had a weird dirty water or sewer smell to it. Made it very uninviting.
Our server at Mel’s was so unbelievably rude and made our experience very uncomfortable
Everything was good but the chicken wings were to salty
We were hoping this would have been a good experience but it turned out to be awful. We waited for 30 mins or more for our drinks, which were order first, and our server was very hit or miss on taking care of us. I will say, we had the chicken sandwich and it was amazing! It took another 30 mins to get our check unfortunately. The restaurant was not busy at all so I would hate to see what it would be like on a regular day. Mel’s did not live up to the hype!
Not the vibe I expect from speakeasy. Too thumping versus mellow.

Slow service. Tried to bring other food to our table. Confused servers delivering food. Verified order second time. Late for game when we had 5:30pm reservation. It was busy but it seemed the delay was from service confusion vs kitchen.
I’m not one to write reviews often. I worked for CRG as a waiter some years ago and was honestly disappointed in this experience. In this price point, you would expect a professional and smooth experience. The hostess was dressed strangely (oversized urban outfitters jacket?), the lights were flickering on and off the whole evening to where we ate in nearly in the dark, our waitress forgot 3 separate times on all 3 separate courses to bring silverware and the music would randomly and abruptly stop. Second time visiting, both times very slow drink service and inattentive staff. Ordered two dishes to snack on and only one arrived. Wait staff never confirmed or checked up on dishes, had to ask to have it removed from bill when leaving. Beautiful interior but the service does not meet expectations.
