My son went to MAC for middle school. 6th and 7th were wonderful, the teachers were great. Last year, when my son was in 8th grade,everything fell downhill. the new campus, the teachers were terrible and my son ended up taking Algebra this summer (even though he passed) because he had no information.Th algebra teacher was horrible and would complain to the students. The core principle behind the creation of Miami Arts Charter was to better liberal arts. However, administration has proved to be rather difficult when it comes to academic advancements that are not directly tied to their art academies. Real world preparation is not the primary focus. I wish the administration would understand that some of their students do enjoy the fruits of being a part of a liberal arts school but would also like more variety to cater to their academic advancement.
This school really challenges you to use your talents and your creativity in your academics as well as solving real life situations.
We have no clubs what so ever. We have a key club, are only strong club. Only some students take it serious.
My school is a performing arts facility, so athletic and fitness opportunities are not really available. There is, however, a physical education course this year. I takes place outside in the parking lot every period for the students who need the credit.
We dont have any teams at my school. All we have is a physical education class.
This school does not have any sports.
We know students who are pot heads and they are still in the school.
Very bland. We have had the same food on wednesdays and fridays for the past 4 years. The food is okay, I guess it's good compared to public school food. There is no microwave which is a shame.
