Great food and service from the wait staff(BREE is GREAT),but owner’s wife is beyond RUDE!My wife and I liked the Tavern so much that we dined there 4 consecutive weekends. Unfortunately, the last time there, the owner’s wife was very rude to my wife who was changing our newborn in a lounge area outside or the tavern. I went to the restaurant based on a favorable review in the New York Times. It is in a beautiful location by the LI Stony Brook beach. But I must say that I was disappointed in the small portion of the main entrees and the fairly high price for lunch.
We've always loved TVI and were happy to hear that they were now serving a Sunday brunch buffet. It was also the first time we had been since Mirabelle took over the dining room. We couldn't have enjoyed it more. The food was excellent - good variety and everything tasted great. The atmosphere, which we have always loved, was better than ever. Service showed inexperience. Food was extremeley overpriced, uninteresting,small portions and not properly prepared. This is a disgrace to the highly regarded reputation attached to the name "Mirabelle". I would not return or recommend.
This was a mother's day brunch. Food was fair but service was terrible. Staff seemed unaware of what they were supposed to be doing. Had to find a server on several occasions. The old Three Village in was much better.
soup was cold, had to ask for bread, waiters kept mismatching orders and patrons when serving, side dish substitutions occured without notification. This is a high end restaurant???
Made a reservation through Opentable. com noting it was my birthday lunch. Arrived Saturday noon and empty. No attention to the special occassion. Obviously didn't read Opentable reservation or paid any attention when my daughter mentioned it. Good attention until it got busy and then 15-20 minutes to get a beverage from a bar twenty feet away. We would never return. Disappointed in Guy's food. Frequenter of Mirabella original that is why we went. Don't serve prime rib if the only way you can do it is well done. Fries with fish and chips burnt or raw on same plate and highly over seasoned!! Dessert tasted comercial even though the waitress said it was made there.
