My opinion is MANY things need to be addressed and changed. If "staff" lived here and ate here things would change very quickly. At the moment I would not recommend the Morada Deer Park community to other families
Meal servings are not always regular (same) portion size. May have a tablespoon of food one time and regular size next. Fresh fruits and coffee not available very often. Floors and carpet need cleaning more often Backup generator(s) needed for elevators when they don't work or when power is out. People upstairs who can't walk are stuck upstairs (or downstairs if malfunction happens while they are downstairs. Maintenance is usually addressed in fair time. Marty is good with maintenance issues.
The staff and Directors at Morada Deer Park are helpful, especially at the welcome desk. Housekeeping is once a week and the ladies are very pleasant and are efficient. Activities are on every day schedules, along with a weekly menu. The meals are served in the dining room three times a day. There is a choice of early or later service. Great amenities, excellent staff and service. Very happy with the referral from A Place for Mom. I would recommend to others.
This is an independent living facility and not appropriate for people who need full-time care. That being said, there is care that you can hire in quarter hour increments if necessary, and they have been extremely helpful.
Morada Deer Park would be my place to live. As you enter the community there is warm atmosphere of caring. From the time you enter the community to the end of your tour the staff members are very welcoming. They provide transportation for residents on Tuesdays and Thursdays. who have doctors appointments. Wednesdays they will take the residents to Walmart. Who doesn’t like to go to Walmart. Lol. They also have what they call “ Lunch Bunch to area restaurants. As of right now, I would not recommend Morada Deer Park to others. The food and activities are not at all what I was expecting. I would rate the food as low as it can go and the activities are a laughing matter. I have a large 1 bedroom apartment and it is perfect size wise. The employees here do try their hardest. If I could get out of here I would right now.
Morada Deer Park is a hidden gem. I never expected to find this place in this little area. You take that left, and you'll turn into this hidden gem; it's perfect. My husband kids that we've found the place we'll move into when we're ready. The waiters come over and introduce themselves and they talk to the residents. Morada Deer Park is an absolutely awesome community. The staff members a respectful to the residents. They are a BIG LOVING FAMILY. They honestly care about the residents & always see to their needs. Also the residents look out for each other. The food is great & lots of activities. There is never a dull moment. If you’re looking for a safe & happy community for your LOVED ONE I recommend Morada Deer Park.
