First, I will say it was made known to us (several times) that the restaurant is only "Soft Opened" and has been since October 1st. They will be doing the grand opening next week. The bar is not yet fully stocked and the menu is still being tweaked. So no stars are taken off for this at all. The website has a spot where you can fill out a form to make a reservation. This is a beautiful place and you can make reservations, which is nice, because it is so tiring waiting in line for breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays. The food is pricey, but good. However. the mimosas are $12 for a small champagne flute--probably double or even triple what we normally pay for a larger drink. The service was all over the place. We love trying new places, especially for breakfast. The food is high quality, farm to table and excellent. The service was great and they were newly opened so I always give a pass at the beginning for not having all the answers we asked about the menu. The menu was slightly confusing to navigate and the prices seemed high despite the excellent higher level food quality. The interior is unique and very clean. The interior of the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing with florals and the bird theme. However the service and food were mediocre. The restaurant wasn't busy but the waitress was not attentive. The banana foster waffle was pretty exceptional but none of the other dishes we ordered were phenomenal. Stumbled into Morningbirds..... what a pleasant surprise!! Very comfortable, great decor, clean place with a great feel. They have done it right. Menu is complete but not over done. Angel's eggs and a deconstructed wedge salad.
well, it was good until we got our bill. I spent $42 in this restaurant on my entrée alone plus appetizers and drinks for a total of over $110 for just me alone. They charged me four dollars for one piece of toast. $4 for ONE piece of toast with my short ribs and grits???!!!! are you INSANE? also The waitress asked me if I wanted eggs with my entree so I assumed that would be it came with it and they charged me an extra eight dollars for that too.....unbelievable. Food was very well executed. Service so bad even great food can't make up for it. Servers are clearly very untrained and inexperienced. Took 20 min for someone to come take drink order. I ordered an ice tea, which took over an hour to arrive. Had to have 2-3 strange conversations with the server about this ice tea: 15 min after the drinks order: - Hi, how about that ice tea? - Yes, I know. Well, we can start with me getting sick on the way home. My lavender mimosa was great - they came out instantly - after the hostess took that order. My husband's mocktails each took 20 minutes.. While empty. His oatmeal was cold. My eggs were (I thought) creamy, but my the rejection my stomach took, I'm going to guess undercooked. Never again.

Our first experience was an absolute disaster! No one came to our table nor the tables around us and we had to order our drinks three times and did not get our drink served nor able to order our food until we waited for 55 minutes! Very poorly trained staff, and we ended up leaving to get food someplace else and shockingly were even charged for the drinks that we waited for that long! So much promise and we were so excited and left unbelievably disappointed!
