I am writing to express my appreciation and recommendation for Natalie Neith of Compass Realty.
My wife and I moved into the historic West Adams neighborhood in 2004. We restored a 1907 Victorian/Craftsman down to the studs and after 16 years in the neighborhood decided to move out of the city to be closer to our son’s special needs school.
Facing leaving our home where we had made strong friendships and were raising two little kids was both emotionally and logistically daunting. Thank goodness for Natalie. Natalie Neith is a joy!
We had known of, met and spoken to Natalie over our years while building a life in West Adams. Natalie was known to us as someone who was extremely knowledgeable about the neighborhood’s historical significance as well as its real estate investment potential. When we wanted an honest and candid assessment of what our home was worth and what it might fetch, the people we trusted told us, “ask Natalie”. So we did just that. Natalie knew we weren’t ready to move but she came over anyway and took the time to take us through what she felt we would need to do to get our home well positioned to sell.
Her direct, pull no punches manner and measured thoughtful responses to every possible crazy question was refreshing and reminds me how rare that is from anyone these days.
So, time passed and we found that our son’s needs trumped our love of our neighborhood. We found the home we wanted closer to his school but to make that work we had to be able to sell our home, and fast. We called Natalie and now I can tell you it was the single best thing we did during the whole process.
Natalie asked us a lot of questions, assessed the situation and laid out a strategy. I wish I could tell you it was as easy as that and everything went off without a hitch. But the best laid plans can easily go astray and so did ours. The clock was ticking, we had to sell and the world was changing, the market - challenging and tough.
How would people visit our home during a pandemic safely? Covid-19 had us sequestered in our homes, how could we possibly have anyone touring the house? How would we manage the kids? Where would the cat go? In the midst of so much uncertainty we could count on one thing, Natalie.
When our buyer fell out, when circumstances changed, when we didn’t know where to go with the kids, there was Natalie. She was focused, determined, unflappable and always professional. All the while she invested herself in us, in our desired outcome and she fought. She never shirked from telling us the hard truths but always had a path forward.
Well, after a lot of ups and downs in these uncertain times, we sold the house. The new buyers are wonderful and Natalie was with us every step of the way!
