I found working with Homeside to be as easy and pleasurable as it gets when refinancing my home. Nathan Kanam, my Loan Officer, checked in weekly to keep me abreast of how things were going. My wife and I were pleased that we could do everything from our home, from initial application, to document review, to closing the loan. We started in late February and closed in late March. The process was fast and easy. As with any loan product I did my research and got a good deal. My loan was done within a month or less. Nathan is very polite, responsive to emails/ calls/ and even text messages; spoke to me when i needed to ask questions at convenient times for me even after Nathan's work hours. I will consider this lender in the future and will recommend to friends.

Enjoyed Working with Nathan. We have refinanced in the past and you could not have Nathan to more helpful. Very impressed with Homeside. Would use them again.

Nathan was extremely responsive throughout the process and got the right people involved to move things forward and make things happen. He was a pleasure to work with.

Nathan Kanam was great to deal with during the process. But Mutual of Omaha took too long to move to closing (three weeks late), which caused issues with a previous lender. I reached out to Nathan for some assistance with this concern. He continually told me that another department was looking into it and he would get back to me. I am disappointed with Mutual of Ohama. I would recommend looking at other options first.

Nathan was very friendly & enthusiastic on our first call. He took my details and said he'd call me right back. He did, and rate seemed good but the details on the fees sounded a bit high. I asked him to send me an estimate and he said I'd have it very shortly. Never heard a word back from him; but then a week later started getting more calls from Lower trying to transfer me to another loan officer to discuss again. Sent him an email to let him know that we'd never heard back so went with another lender and crickets.

Nathan seems like a nice enough guy over the phone but I would be weary about trusting him. There were a few red flags that popped up when working with him. The two that are of greatest concern are described below: 1. I was shopping for HELOC loans when I came across Homeside Financial. My initial conversation with Nathan was promising. He offered to waive many of the closing costs associated with the loan. In my short conversation, Nathan was aggressive, judgmental and high pressure. Not my style. I was looking for a Home Equity loan or line of credit. He found out we have a VA loan and instantly started moving in the direction of a refinance. I explained I have a very good rate and am not interested in refinancing the first mortgage. He said we can only get 80% and if we can't get it no one can. He clearly wanted me to do a refinance for 100% of the value. During our call he said he was receiving another call and would call me back. I have never experienced that before. Very rude to take another call during our call. Second he should have called back.
