I purchased a small tree from Nature Hills and received what looked like a slender walking stick. I planted it as per the directions and it took three weeks to yield about 5 leaves. After three months it is now dead and the leaves have wilted and fallen off. I contacted Nature Hills and was told that I could get 50% credit and would have to pay for shipping and handling for a replacement or something else. Terrible Communication with the customer. You can only "speak" with someone if your placing an order. If you have a question about your order (after they have your money, they force you to complete a request online. This wouldn't normally bother me but I asked several questions including when my order would Finally ship since it had been several weeks... There simple reply was it "should" ship soon... Received a dead branch that they are trying pass off as a tree and then refusing to provide a refund forcing me to dispute and potential legal action.
STOLE MY MONEY!!! I bought 8 trees. First 1/2 of the order was sent with a receipt for 5 trees, but I only received 4. When I contacted them (via email because they dont pick up phones) I was told they wouldn't refund or replace the missing item, that the best they could do is give me a discount for a new purchase. I contacted my bank to dispute the charge of the tree that wasn't sent and then contacted them to cancel my remaining order that hadn't been sent and to be refunded. Worst experience. I've bought many plants online with success with many companies but this company, Nature Hills Nursery is terrible. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I purchased Viburnum on May 12th they shipped and did not arrive for FIVE days. On May 17th they arrived DEAD. I was not given any replacement nor my money back. Instead, they kept sending me ridiculous emails. No live person to speak to either. Its shady.
I ordered hydrangea and hibiscus in #3 containers. Both arrived in a box placed up-side down. As a result, the pot was smashed to the bottom and lost almost all branches. I claimed online with pictures, but the company only send automated e-mail responses. I ordered trees and scrubs from four online supplier including this company. Other companies packed the plants more carefully, which would not damage the plant even if Fedex placed the box upside down. DON'T ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE. I sent an azalea for a friend for a bereavement gift and it arrived dead. My friend called and they offered her 50% off a new one instead of replacing it. She even sent them photos of the dead plant. I called and they would do NOTHING. TOTAL RIP OFF.
I bought three weigela. They arrived in a healthy state and in flower. Two days later I found a bunch of dead bees in my yard near the plants. When I called the service rep, I was told that all your plants are grown with neonicitinoids. When I looked up neonicitinoids, I found that they kill bees, butterflies and other pollinators. I am sick about this! I have to cover the plants for up to two years until the effects of the neonicitinoids go away. That makes me really angry.
