I loved Nature Hills Nursery up until this week. I thought a perennial from this company would be a really nice sympathy gift for someone who I work with who lost her brother. An oversized box, crushed pot and plant out of dirt arrived. The worst customer service I have ever experienced on top of sheer insensitivity. They pretty much ignored everything I said like this damaged plant upon arrival was not their responsibility. Keep it up and you won't have any customers.
I will never deal with people again. I spent a $110 on a Kwanzan dead Tree. It arrived with very yellow and brown leaves. I was told it takes from 30 to 60 days to start growing. It never did. Actually it get worse and I have left with a dead stick. They refuse to return or replace the tree. Their (1) year Growing & Glowing Guarantee program is scam. Please read their fine details.
I ordered a tree a vanilla strawberry hydrangea. It arrived with brown, yellow curled up leaves. I immediately notified the company via email and explained and sent photos of the tree and answered their questions. TERRIBLE customer service. My tree died within 9 months. Only get a credit of 40% of the tree value. To have it shipped it cost the 40$. Totally ridiculous. You basically pay more for the “replacement” than the original tree? What a joke. In addition the customer service person was rude, inpatient and had no idea what she was doing. My advice: Don’t buy from them and if you do, you will not get a replacement or any real compensation if it dies.
Shockingly terrible customer service. They sent me a spirea with half of the roots cut off and the trunk of the shrub growing in a significantly different direction than the stems. When I sent pictures, they acknowledged their machines caused root damage and told me to “give the plant a chance”. Because of the angled trunk, if I were to plant this shrub, the stems would be on the ground and nothing upright. VERY disappointed with my experience. I have ordered from many other nurseries online such as Breck's, Stark Bros., Jung, TyTy and never came across such a lousy replacement guarantee! Basically you get 50% credit for use, BUT you must replace the # of items receiving credit for same # items. You can't apply sum of credit for replacement. ON top of that, you pay exorbitant shipping costs to replace their poor quality stock that did not survive. So my hackberry would costs more than the original costs. This is the only communication I received from this company since I placed my order on 4/29/24. Today (5/24/24), I received one of the three plants ordered for almost $300. The plant is in poor health. Buyer beware! I was not provided a tracking number or any communication that my order shipped. Most unscrupulous company.
I would give a zero if I could. TERRIBLE customer service! They have an "Our Guarantee" section that claims they will replace a dead plant w/in a year and pay shipping if approved. However...if you file a claim and get approved suddenly it's their "Growing & Glowing Guarantee" and only gets you 50% & you pay shipping. and if you ask why they berate you and basically say you are an idiot, with no explanation regarding the guarantee stated on the website.
DON’T BUY FROM HERE! What I received from them as a 5-6 foot tree is a joke. It is a stick that comes up just below my chin. I’m 5’6”. I just ordered 2 3-4 foot trees from another company and this is shorter than those. It has no branches or leaves or any sign that there will be some. I’d love to attach pictures but don’t have that option.
