I recently broke a molar at the gum line leaving just the root. I was almost afraid to get the root removed because I "knew" it would hurt - a lot. I went in to get it done. I expressed my misgivings but Dr. Kalu and the dental assistant assured me that the worst part would be deadening my mouth. They were right! There was pressure but no real pain after the deadening.
