The food and service were solid, but nothing here was standout. Even for small plates some of the portions were very small and by the end of the meal it felt like we paid too much for what we got. Also, the restaurant had many empty tables inside on a Friday night, but only listed early and late reservation times on Open Table. And then, a few minutes after my party finished dining, I received an email that Nia had canceled my reservation, even though I gave them my name when I arrived. Nothing was bad about the experience, ... read more
Staff are exceptional and the main reason I love this place
My second visit, I live out of state and don't get to Chicago often. Told the friend who lives there I wanted to go, she'd never heard of it, but loved it too! Curious as to when its "busy" time is. I've been on a Saturday, about 1:00pm, and Thursday 6:30pm, and it was basically empty both times.
Love sitting outside in the summer for people watching! The food is fresh and tasty. It can transport you to the Mediterranean while in the west loop. The staff is always friendly and efficient.
This restaurant was listed as one of the most romantic restaurants in Chicago. And it did not disappoint. The ambiance was very intimate and the service/treatment of the guests was superb. The food was delightful and very tasty. I enjoyed everything about this restaurant and can't wait to come back.
Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Nia. We had an early reservation at 6:30pm, so the indoor tables were not full. We appreciated the opportunity to converse with each other in a quieter atmosphere. The restaurant has a lot of ambience, and the service was excellent. Nia serves tapas, so we ordered several small plates, ranging from salmon and mahi mahi to lamb & feta meatballs to risotto. My mahi mahi came with asparagus. Another friend ordered an asparagus plate, which had additional seasonings on it. We f... read more
Outstanding scallops and meatballs! Waitress, Gaga, knows her wines and enjoyed helping our table with a variety of questions. Tasting menu is outstanding way to sample the many flavors at Nia
Nia was alright. Nothing to criticize about it. Nothing to crazy about it at the same time. If you are looking for good valued tapas place, probably Nia wouldn't be the place you'd like to go. There are cheap and good tapas place around the city. But I liked the environment of the restaurant and the service. It was a good time.
The tasting menu was great for our party of 5. We had a hard time just picking one from each course. With all the options we easily can see co I g back to try something new. Only downside, was I felt a little rushed with all the small plates coming out so quickly and in multiples. I will still be going back for seconds though.
