As a first time donor and mother of a chronically ill son who receives IVIG or plasma infusions every 3 weeks going on 5 years now, I learned a lot about what the beginning stages of what the plasma donation is all about. Definitely need to allow yourself time for your first visit, 2-3 hours unfortunately, and in order to speed up the actual donation part you'll want to be well hydrated starting the day before.
