We are a rescue in Florida paying for this kitty's Veternary care. I spoke to the vet yesterday he seem to explain that it was an older cat and the procedure for the hematoma may not be a good idea, but it would turn into cauliflower earcome back. The foster parent did not feel that's what they conveyed to her. I called back and asked the vet to call me again so I could clarify. When I spoke to you an office employee this morning she was extremely rude. She had spoke to the foster parent saying that they would send an estima... read more

While you never want to have to take your pet to the veterinarian, it’s good to have 4 great doctors available when needed. I’ve been taking my cats to Oldtown Veterinary Hospital for over 30 years!

Some have commented on price. I cannot say by way of comparison as this is the only veterinary facility I have used in the area. May cost a little more here, but would not take my 4 fur babies anywhere else unless specialty care was needed. You get what you pay for.The entire staff, from the receptionist to the techs and veterinarians, they all make us feel like family when we come in. I pass several veterinarian offices to get here! If you are looking for a veterinarian, or may not be satisfied with where you currently go, I... read more

I found a dog wonderg in my yard with tags on. It had the owners number and this vets office on it. I called the owner and left a voice mail. I would have never minded keeping the sweet thing except that I was leaving for work and did not want to keep it in a hot garage. I called the vets office thinking I could drop it there until they could get the owner since it obviously was their patient. I was appalled by the lack of help they offered. They would not take the animal with out approval from the owner of the hospital and ... read more

OVH has been good to our pets. This past week, I was certain I would have to put down my beloved dog, an 8+ year old Akita breed named "Piper." She was in great pain, lethargic, and was not eating and drinking properly. I knew she suffered osteoarthritis and had been giving her glucosamine and occasional pain meds. She improved somewhat but grew worse and began snapping and growling, even at me. My wife was afraid of her. I was troubled. She needed med treatment. Did not know how to move her or get her to the vet. Movement a... read more

After bringing our golden retriever Sandy to Dr. Beth Gates at Oldtown since 2005, we were told that our vet Dr. Gates could not see her for a week when she was suddenly stricken with lameness in her back end. We instead brought her to Dr. McCourt, who did no examination whatsoever - no blood work, no x-rays suggested, no eye check, no temp check....nothing....She tersely informed us that it was Sandy's knees that were the issue. Despite my protests, the tech dragged our beautiful girl down the hall by her neck/collar to be... read more
