The member was a referral from one of our repeat customers, and we value his business. We spoke to the member today and have resolved all issues. We did indeed miss the first installation date, due to a manufacturing delivery delay beyond our control. We did reschedule for the next business day. We had reused the existing lock as requested but could not get it to work properly. We had no instructions to reference and were perplexed. The member told the installers that he had originally installed the lockset and thought he could fix it. He did but unknown to us it had stopped working again. He took it to a locksmith who quickly found the issue ( a separated piece in the lock). He purchased a new one and installed it himself. We offered to pay for the lock that must have been damaged during removal and the member has accepted. As for the staining when our finisher had returned the second day, the member had accidentally put some marks in the finish when he was working on the lock. We explained we would be glad to take care of it for him. They could not repair the area so we stripped the 1 rail and refinished it. For the sake of another trip the member had offered to put the final clear coat on the refinished area because it needed time to dry. The finisher left him a note as a reminder with the material to do it. The weather-stripping was not put back in because the whole surface was wet. We did the final finish on the other 3 rails and refinished the marked one. The weather strip goes back in when all is dry. Since he had offered to do the clear coat we did not know this would be an issue. We had not been informed of an air leak or we would have went back immediately to address it. The hole was drilled by the manufacturer for the deadbolt catch. The air was caused by his outside lite fixtures and outlets which let air inside the walls. This would have been sealed by us when we installed the lock but with the problem it was overlooked. We had not followed up with the member as we normally do with the holidays, but after our conversation today we have resolved all issues and he did say he would use us again. Our apologies for any inconvenience or miscommunications. Our business is built on referrals and repeat customers and we take our customers satisfaction seriously.
