Communication from to many people.
My mortgage refinance was a great experience because I thought converting my FHA loan to a conventional loan would be difficult, but overall PennyMac made this experience very easy! Everyone I worked with made the experience easy and efficient. Every effort was made to use existing documents or information, questions were answered by knowledgable associates, like Shalom Babalola, and closing was done before the estimated timeframe.
We were jerked around asking for the same documents over and over again, if you want our money then you should make this as streamline as possible, we provided documents within 24 hours or within the hour after inspections were done, you made a lot of money off us and then multiple requests for the same things over and over. That is not ok, we were ready to go elsewhere.
I have never met nicer people than at PennyMac. Everyone I spoke with have been amazingly helpful and did not get frustrated when I asked the same question more than once. From the moment I started the process to closing, Linda Frazier was with me every step of the way. She called me weekly to update me on where we were in the process. If I had additional questions, I could call her any time. This has been an amazingly pleasant and easy experience thanks to the amazing customer service at PennyMac!

The whole loan this time was a mess. I had to submit multiple documents twice, and had a couple times I wasn’t informed that documents were needed. I had a good experience with Penny Mac previously on my other mortgage, but I learned that a loan officer will be much easier next time, even if it does cost a little more. The stress and time taken out to have to find, scan, and re-submit documents was excruciating. I was told I only needed account numbers & routing numbers at closing, if I did not have a voided check. Turns out I needed a voided check. I talked to several different people and depending what day it was each one had a different answer. It took me three phone calls to get the correct number to the title company to find out the status of funds distribution.
An overabundance of communications relaying the same information (ex; receiving several emails and phone calls in regards to one aspect of the process).
