I was with people's trust for 13 years. My husband's grandmother got very I'll and I was flying back and forth from Florida to North Carolina to take care of her. I had gotten notice that my policy was cancelled due to needing a new inspection. Okay no big deal I called they came out and did an inspection. My inspection failed so I fixed the issue as I'm still going back and forth to North Carolina but my daughter was in the residents at all times. My premium jumped up over$700 this year, I haven’t had any claims, no storms in our area, just I’m to be penalized because I love in Florida. I call that price gouging!!!

Don't buy this insurance. We had a claim from Hurricane IRMA. We evacuated as ordered. Peoples insurance told us to save receipts and they would pay us for our expenses. We filed a claim, they refused to pay even though we did everything they said to do. They changed the policy conditions in part D after we filed the claim saying the home had to be destroyed completely before they would pay. Changed the rules after the claim. Do not trust them. Took two months for them to say this to us and move on the claim.
My sister's roof has been caving in for a year. This company sent a shotty contractor to fix it and it was made even worse. They will not fix the roof and much of the house is currently uninhabitable and there is mold. Stay away from The People's Trust, they are a terrible company. I will be reporting them to the commissioner and to the Better Business Bureau.
A friend had to deal with a leaky roof caving in for over a year. They had to get the news to do a story on them before the insurance company would agree to send another contractor out to fix her house. She has 2 children living in these conditions and could not get any help or any answers. Don't use this insurance company!!
Nice company just doubled my insurance rate with no claims, what a nice thing to do to the senior citizens of Florida.
Ive been with Peoples Trust for years and now I get my renewal and my homeowners insurance went up another 1400.00 a year on top of what I was paying already.So I called to ask why the big increase and I was told that the State Of Florida allowed them to raise rates.I never filed a claim and I'm a senior citizen a.What a go Peoples Trust.
