Polaris G52 Back-up Valve Assembly. This is a factory original Polaris replacement back up valve. It has a timer mechanism inside that diverts water out of a jet every 5-10 minutes. This jet acts as a back up, pulling the cleaner out from the pool floor or wall. There is an arrow on one side of the hose barb that should face towards the cleaner. Buy this replacement instead of buying a new unit Just as I ordered. Replaced worked, yeah. But- there no instruction on how to replace valve. I work out.
My Back Up Valve Works Again!! Bought this as part of a maintenance rebuild for my Zodiac - the old one no longer reversed and was basically 'welded' shut (couldn't open). Went ahead and bought this instead of the rebuild kit - boy am I glad I did! Was very easy to drop this sucker in, with my new hose, and have had zero problems since. Reverses to pull my Zodiac out of any spot it might get hung up in (pool ladder). No complaints, happy with this purchase.
