Worth every penny I just got the Polaris 280 after having a 380 for 22 years! I thought my old 380 was doing ok, but after hooking up the new 280 I saw how tired my old one was. I'm using the same motor I've always used, and I still had to use a flow restrictor at the pool side; that's how efficient the new 280 is. I've had it going for about 3 weeks, and it is outstanding. Works great! Has some improvements over what the approximate year ... Works great! Has some improvements over what the approximate year 2000 model had (one it replaced) You have a clear covered screen debris filter not far from the wall. So you can see before taking apart to empty/clean.

The real deal This is an actual Polaris 280. It was $195 cheaper than my local Leslie's pool store. I have used Polaris for the last 10 years. The last one I had was a 380 which is a newer model but I actually like the 280 better. I like that it picks up leaves etc. in the mesh bag. Since it is a pressure cleaner it doesn't send anything to the filter. It does however stir the sediment so the skimmer can take care of the things too fine for the mesh bag. Great cleaning power. Bag isn't very durable. We've been using this unit for a couple months now and it really does a great job cleaning the bottom of the pool. Great power and it never seems to get hung up. The hose is extremely flexible and while I was initially hesitant about the three wheel design, I am now sold on its capability. My only complaint is that after two months of occasional use, our bag already has holes near the top where it appears to have abraded.
