My family came home a from an amazing 2 week vacation and walked into a disaster! Our water heater had burst and destroyed our newly renovated basement. The water damage was pretty extensive, I believe it must have burst early into our vacation. I came onto HomeAdvisor and got a few numbers. Tom, the owner, is a very honest and respectful person to deal with, detailed orientated and organized, and very hard working.
Work was good quality and prompt. However, be careful and do not allow Tom/owner to get paid directly through your home insurance company, and make sure to get quotes from his testing contractors (for asbestos etc.). Tom quoted me one number, but then when the insurance company issued a claim check, Tom reissued his estimate that was higher, to match the insurance claim money. Remember that what home insurance pay you for a claim is NOT what contractors need to be paid. Contractors should be paid their original estimate they... read more
