Rick Matthews oversaw our recent loan through Modern Woodmen Bank in Rock Island. The process was complicated by the many useless and irrational federal government loan documentation requirements, but each time we had a question, Rick was prompt to reply and assist in helping us meet the requirements.
From the time I started my loan till the money landed in my account was fantastic. Rick had a list of what I would needed to make the transaction roll fast. At signing the title lady was very impressed with the paperwork provided, that they didn't have to meet me again to write a check, and I was aware of all the papers I was signing. Rick's group provided me with the information I needed and the whole transaction was easy and fast. The speed of return answers and calls about time frames was very helpful.
Friendly, personable and easy to get in contact with. Knowledgable and willing answer all questions asked. I was a first time home buyer and Rick was able to help me understand all aspects of the home buying process. Although we couldn't meet face to face because we were in different states, Rick was always available by phone or email.
Buyers, I recently purchased a lovely Townhome in Rock Island. I was going back and forth with my 1st lender on the interest rate and insisted on other options to get me exactly what I wanted and needed to purchase. Needless to say I did not get what I wanted so I contacted my realtor and told him, I loved the Townhome but could not get my loan approved for the rate I wanted. Rick was wonderful to work with during the loan process. He was always professional and willing to go beyond to help me with my home loan. I would highly recommend working with him.
Even when you anticipate things going smoothly in a closing there are sometimes when things come up that either slow things down or affect the date of the closing. A few things came up in the process and Rick was extremely helpful and confident that it would not affect my closing and it didn't. I was delighted and comforted by his professionalism and sense of urgency without causing too much worry! I would definitely refer Rick Matthews and Modern Woodmen Bank for another loan/mortgage.
I absolutely loved the experience I had with them, and I wouldn’t have chosen any other bank or credit union to go through besides Modern Woodmen! They will Work with you and guide you through he process. I didn’t know what the process involved, or what I should be doing, but they made all of that very easy to understand.
