I received a call today from someone identifying himself as Jimmy Brown, claiming to be an AT&T employee. He said there was a mandatory upgrade to new digital phones because AT&T was doing away with underground copper lines. I asked him twice whether he actually worked for AT&T, and both times he said yes. He did not mention Ring Planet until I pressed him to send me documents about the products and pricing. We apologize for this experience. All of the carriers are decommissioning their lines. If you google are landlines going away you will see many confirmations. We are partnered with all 3 major carriers but our agents do not work directly for them. A good way to think of it is our networks are powered by the major carriers and the customer service and billing is done by our company. Again, I apologize this was not made clear to you.
Ring Planet is not a legitimate phone company. First, they called my mom and told her they communicated with AT&T customers about acquiring her phoneline. First of all, my mother is NOT an AT&T client. Secondly, they lied to her . I called AT&T personally and they assured me that they had NOT communicated with Ring Planet about any of their customers. I was told Century Link was calling & my account would now be switched to Ring Planet because the FCC was no longer supporting copper wiring. I was not happy & stated so. This fraudulent person knew I thought I was talking to Century Link. My monthly rate was to be approx $200. with Ring Planet. My first bill was from 10/18/2025 to 01/14/2026 $398. They're incredibly deceptive in their sales tactics. They claim that the US is going away from copper lines and your phone company is using them - THEY'RE NOT. They take your money and send you cheap phones with terrible customer service. AVOID at all costs
Ringplanet is a very annoying company that doesn’t care about their customers and not letting go of their cancellation from customers who found out that their product and service is not what they said it is. Cancel my service with ringplanet and been trying to transfer my landline number back to my original phone company,but the account number and transfer pin is not working. ZERO HORRIBLE COMPANY THAT USES DECEPTIVE PRACTICE, MISREPRESENTING THEMSELVES AS PHONE SERVICE PROVIDER SAYING THAT COPPER LINES ARE DECOMMISSIONED IN THE AREA AND I WILL NO LONGER HAVE PHONE SERVICE FOR MY BUSINESS ACCOUNT IF AGREEMENT NOT SIGNED. Definitely don't recommend at all this is the worst internet company possible not helpful tech support or customer service agents plus high prices for speeds that are non existent or slower then dial up they say they will work with you and bam they forget about the conversations you had as a prior service member honor integrity and your word means something and this company seems like they have no integrity or honor and will go back on their word if it means they can make a quick buck at the customers expense I highly recomm... read more
Very Bad people . They need to be fined! By the FCC
0 starts. Why do companies like this exist. They pray on us old people , Got my demented husband to change or phone by lying to him !!!! Now won't give me my phone number back! Why would anyone do this to another person . I still just don't understand Y we do this each other.
