If a patient requests to speak with the dentist directly regarding a concern, it should never be deflected to another member of their staff. I was offended truly over this practice; however completed treatment because treatment was in process. The EOB was incorrectly assessed; I received no apology, no concession, no explanation. The staff member was not reprimanded at all. They could have done better.. way better. As a former dental assistant; it could have been handled differently.
