This place isn't somewhere you send your family or to be forced into staying. The staff talks to the patients in rude degrading way. Ants in the beds, which are hard. Wouldn't give you a pillow for pain or a blanket when they keep it cold. They don't even regulate the medicine they prescribed but don't give you meds you were on prior to admission either. Felt like a jail!!! I was admitted into this facility for anxiety and depression hoping I would receive help, and little did I know that I was in for the exact opposite.. The staff is non chalant, and they treat people like they are less than human.. You have to ask for water; you can not have it without asking... Upon entering, I had to ask multiple times for toiletries and other hygiene products. This is the worst inpatient facility that I have ever been to. Some of staff there are very rude and extremely unprofessional. I cannot even begin to express how awful it was there while being a patient at this hospital. On the fifth day of my stay there I asked to change my linen on the bed I had been sleeping on and as I turned over the mattress I seen dried up vomit on the mattress. I was an employee here and was terminated because I complained about the mistreatment of patients, that I witnessed. A vintage/seasoned nurse (who was previously attacked by a patient because of her harsh tone), lost two separate patients belonging and decided to put 3 patients in a locked room together for over three hours while waiting to be admitted on a unit because I put my concerns in an email I was terminated. Avoid River Place Behavioral Health at all costs. My mother was brought there after possibly going off of her medication for bi-polar disorder. The main objective of RPBH is to get the patients out, regardless if they are mentally stable or not. I am out-of-state and had left numerous messages for the doctor treating my mother (Dr. Vegara) to call me back, which he did not. Very unprofessional.
