We had the best steaks at the Roxy since we have moved to Reno over a year ago. Cooked perfectly, the meat was melt in your mouth tender. I know everything else was good, but those steaks just eclipsed everything else that we ate!
The food was good, but the service was not. We waited quite some time after we were seated at 7:15 PM before a waiter introduced himself and gave us a menu. We received our order in a reasonable amount of time, but the waiter never came back to check on us or to see if we wanted more wine, bread, etc. We did feel that each table should have had a basket of bread in lieu of the person walking around and asking if we wanted more bread. This is third time we have eaten at the Roxy and we have been very pleased each time. We have had different entrees each time and everything has always been excellent.. The Dover Sole is amazing!! as are the salads, soups and appetizers. Cant say enough good things about this restaurant. The service is always excellent too.
The food is excellent and the atmosphere appealing. Their early bird special (5-6, Sun-Thurs) is a very good value.
My Sweetheart and I were completey taken by Roxy; we sat down with a beautiful setting, the piano in the bar was audible with the performer being an excellent choice--our server Stephen was brilliant. He was always there when I needed him, but he left a lot of time in between so my Love and I could speak and enjoy each other's company. Food was tasty and well presented. The service was excellent.
The waiter did not seem to care for us after we order a bottle of wine($65,00) until it was time to give us the bill and turn the table, but he did say they were busy and had over 500 reservation for the night. The food was good but I would not good back on a holiday I think they care more about getting people in and out and as a local I would not tell out of town guest to go their on a holiday.
The hosts are friendly and cheerful even in the face of a horrendous line. The Roxy was completely sold out for New Years Eve. The service was very slow. We did not even see our waiter for 1/2 hour. When we were able to order, my husband ordered the fillet Minton and our waiter said they were out. This was disappointing and should have been told to us when seated at the table.
