Legalized Crooks 1. Renting illegal units (either because they are in disrepair or not zoned for residential habitation) while charging market and above market rents. My (studio) 1-room unit at 1355/mo was actually a sprinkler room, which means that my unit housed the water system for the entire building, which means that the fire department could bust down my door without my permission. Chipping paint for half a decade. Rent at 200% of what it was ten years ago. God forbid the huge holes they leave in the building allow rats, they force you to move out of the building; at your own expense. They force you to sign the next year’s lease four months into your present one. Did I mention the building is decaying, and rent is $2000. Scoundrels. All of there properties in Allston/Brighton are disgusting, old and poorly managed buildings. Nobody in their buildings like their apartments. They are overpriced and nothing works. 1. Water system doesn’t work half of the time. The shower randomly drops and spikes in temperature. You burn yourself on the open pipes in the bathroom too. 2. Washer and dryers don’t work 3. Elegant and clean place. Plus, it is a friendly welcome place for dogs; no matter how big your dog is, you can bring it. I have seen some massive dogs in the building, and some of them scared the hell out of me... But it is all good. The rent increases yearly by at least $ 150.00 due to inflation, financial difficulties, or the landlord's greed. We love living here. Thank you
Better building maintenance week by week. Cleaning agents that are not so strong and which tends to react to my asthma…More reliable and quality maintained laundry area… washing machines are old and falling apart rust regularly stains my work clothes! Better over seeing of parking area to ensure tenants only have access to parking lot and not out siders … Parking is regularly unavailable due to guess or outsiders taking up parking spaces in such a limited area to begin with..
