I've been here for about a week, and from my standpoint, this rehabilitation center is a place that has kept me alive and almost euphoric. The professionals here, in all departments, monitor about 100 patients, with serious illnesses, ranging from sepsis, to cerebral palsy, without missing a beat. They look out for every individual in a caring manner, and patients look out for each other. John in social services was absolutely amazing to work with! So helpful and so available to our needs and on top of finding everything out ! He made the experience great ! They were honest and transparent and just helpful in trying to make my mother in law as comfortable as physically possible!

My sister has stage four colon cancer, she was admitted to Bakersfield Memorial Hospital and was sent to San Joaquin Nursing Facility. She loved the food a big upgrade from hospital food and friendly caregivers. I was immediately notified if there was any change in medicine or her condition. She returned twice to the hospital and unfortunately is now on hospice but the staff at San Joaquin Rehab did all they could trying to get her built up enough to see the oncologist. I was a patient for 5 weeks recovering from a lengthy hospital stay. My goal was to build back strength in my arms and legs. Let me start by saying that in your search for a center, you will never find a perfect place. My review will highlight the wonderful people who really have a heart for others and what was right about this facility. The staff has been very good to me. I came with a hospital gown and left with a bunch of clothing that was donated to me by the staff there the nurses on C hall were excellent always had my meds to me the CNA on C hall were wonder always taken care of my needs, ACTIVITIES was amazing very friendly funny encouraging an always had me with a smile on my face even though I never went to group activities they always showed up in my room to visit with me and give me reading material they would check on me when I was outside doing... read more

I stay currently in this facility I am resident president an I have to say this is a wonderful place that I am in the staff is all so friendly and kind very helpful i enjoy all my time with the activities department they always come up with fun ideas for us to do games party we went to the lake for a lunch they treat us with such compassion and warmt this is for the facility in Bakersfield ca 93301

The people who work here are super. Lots appear to be leaving saying it's going downhill. The medical director would do anything rather than actually see a patient. Facilities guy Daryl was great but the building is running down. The website lies that there are tvs in every room not the case.
