Had booked a table for my sons 30th and were put in a room upstairs with absolutely no atmosphere and really dingy- I had taken my son there before and he had wanted to go back as the restaurant was so lively and loved the restaurants decor- I had arranged before hand to have a birthday dessert and candle, I had told the waitress who it needed to go to- they forgot to do it and had to be nudged then gave it to the wrong person!

Disappointing Experience Despite the Hype We were recommended Sanremo as one of the best Italian restaurants in Bath, but sadly, it didn’t live up to expectations. The interior and setting were lovely, stylish and welcoming. The staff were friendly at first, but toward the end of the evening, we felt rushed out, even though the restaurant was empty and our table wanted to order more drinks. The restaurant itself has a good atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately my wife's meal was not good. She had burrata with tomatoes, the tomatoes were hard and no flavour followed by spaghetti marinara which the prawns were overcooked, calamari was like rubber and the sauce was much too heavy. I had fried calamari followed by salmon and mussels, which was ok. They did take the price of my wife’s meal off but it was very disappointing after reading such good reports of the food.
Really bad food, and very overpriced. Looked so promising online.

Spent 1 and a half hours waiting for our food to be told the kitchen had missed the order, very frustrating as the restaurant is beautiful and we were looking forward to celebrating our anniversary.
Waited 2 hours for a starter 45 minutes for a round of drinks Decided to walk out and eat elsewhere

Service was rushed, main couses bought ot when still eating starters. There was no ambience as it was so busy and service people rushing everywhere. We arrived 5 minutes before our booking time and were immediately seated at the bar and told there would be a 15 minute wait. Draft Peroni was not chilled and the barman was not very welcoming. Restaurant was quite clearly overbooked. Staff seemed very overwhelmed with the amount of people. Reservation was at 18:45 we waited ages for drinks and only received our food at 20:40. Feel for the wait staff as they took the brunt of other patrons walking out due to the wait. Communication could’ve helped with reassuring patrons that food was on the way or whatever the hold up was. Manager told us the bill was on the house due to the wait. All in all it wasn’t a great experience.
We were mislead when we arrived at the restaurant thinking we would be sitting in the main room as advertised. However, when we arrived we were led past all the nice tables and taken to a smaller poorly decorated room which resembled a Wetherspoons. The room had clearly been over cramped to maximise profits as we had waiters shoving behind our chairs to get to the bar and to bring plates back and forth which isn’t fair on the customer or the employees as it’s awkward for everyone.
