Unfortunately, this needs to be a bad review. I don’t give these out lightly and after coming with my partner this evening expecting this to be a great experience, it really wasn’t. The service cannot be faulted however, the food was poor and overpriced. We ordered the food, within seconds the food was on our table (we can only assume this had been pre-made due to the time taken and the fact it was slightly cold). Our high expectations were unfortunately not met. Positives - light, bright and comfortable surroundings; good quick service. Negatives - this is an old bank building, so not built for acoustic performance, however, we struggled to hear waiting staff ask and answer questions; my £20 calzone pizza had minimal filling, very much not VFM; my wife's spaghetti marinara had so much tomato sauce it masked what fish was there; this is clearly a popular establishment, but we felt very rushed to give up our table - we arrived at 19:05... read more

Pasta over cooked prawns and squid hard and chewy wife’s pasta under cooked bruschetta was one they had under a heat lamp before we had even been seated we and a small table one foot away from the kitchen and the bar area as they had sold too many tables
The food was ok. The service was very good. The wine list was grossly expensive .
I know that people love this place, and I have to say that other members of my party were more than happy with the food. I, however, had a very disappointing meal. It was the spaghetti marinara, which fits into my love of seafood and pasta. However, the calamari and the prawns were chewy and the sauce was very thick and glutinous. Was a little cramped especially on the side of 2 peoples. Lovely venue and destination though
I booked a table for my significant birthday thinking this was a nicer than average restaurant, but found lots of people were in tracksuit bottoms and hoodies, so don't bother dressing up. We waited an hour for our main course. My husband's fish ravioli was inedible due to the waxy taste. I had the tuna and another had the chicken which were both nice. Staff are odd but friendly, service slow. They charged us for the inedible pasta, and also an extra dessert which we didn't have. I wouldn't go back.
We were both happy with our meals and drinks but service could have been better. They did check if food was ok but no offer of more drinks, and they automatically add a service charge onto the bill and charge that to your card without asking or options.
Food was not good. Ordered a pasta dish which contained so much cheese it over powered everything. There was no issue sending it back. This was replaced with a pizza which was okay. The restaurant is big and being Saturday evening it was extremely loud.
