We came to ELA’S, one of our favorite restaurants for a day before Valentine’s Day. In short, it was a wonderful, delicious and special dinner that we enjoyed. We sat outside with a heater overhead, and the quiet Shelter Cover harbor below us. Halibut and a filet along with a shared wedge salad. All were well prepared. Service was good and timely. ELA’S never disappoints which is why we keep going back but that night’s dinner was particularly good. Great beauty and ambiance.
It was just "ok" it came with huge reviews and we just did not see it, they were out of some food items which was not addressed in beginning. The waitress really acted like she did not want to be there in general. Not real helpful with food questions. We ordered Grouper and it looked raw no sear very bland in taste. Huge disappointment. Fried green tomatoes were good but not fresh tomatoes which I would have thought they would be. Overall it was just "ok"
My wife had the fish special - blackened red snapper with risotto. She loved it. I always get the bone-in ribeye. It's always great and comes with large steak fries. On this occasion, the steak was not as good as it has been and it seemed a bit smaller than in the past. For some reason, they are now preparing the steak fries with pepper on them. Great atmosphere and very helpful staff!
Lovely restaurant second visit because we enjoyed it so much. Excellent across the board. Highly recommend.
On arrival for our 6:30 reservation was told by waitress they were out of the diamond scored flounder. This is my favorite meal at Elas at the reason we made the reservation. Needless to say quite disappointed first thing on Friday night already were "out of" a fish at a restaurant known for its fish. The snapper special was delicious however still quite disappointed in the lack of inventory on flounder. The restaurant is pricey, food taxes high.
Great service, food and atmosphere
We were a group of 4. Two ordered the Bone-in Ribeye, 1 ordered the Steamed Lobster over Risotto and 1 ordered the Grouper. Service was excellent. Our waiter anticipated our beverage needs and was attentive. All meals were cooked well. The ambience and location was above average. The prices overall were on the high side but not high enough to keep us from returning.
We enjoyed being at your lovely restaurant. Everything was as delicious as I remembered from the early 70’s. Your hostess, Honey, welcomed us and exuded hospitality. Our waiter was superb. Thank you.
