First time dining here and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food, service, ambiance etc was5 star. The only con was when the orange heat lamps turned on late into our dinner. The bright orange light was a bit unpleasant. It still wouldn’t stop me from returning or from sitting on the patio by the water. Very enjoyable dinner.
This has been our favorite restaurant for years and it has always been spectacular. However this particular visit was subpar. The only reason for this was that the Salmon Rockefeller recipe has changed and it wasn’t good. Everything thing else was excellent.

I ordered the flounder. It was very dry and over cooked. I recently had flounder at The Old Pink House in Savannah. It was moist and delicious.
We have vacationed at HHI for 20 years. Yet this was our first visit to Ela’s. Definitely moves into our top 5-10 restaurants. Sitting outside was fabulous. Not sure if inside dining experience would be the same. Beet and goat cheese appetizer was a great starter. Watch out for the heat in the shrimp cocktail sauce but it was very good and included 5 nice sized shrimp. My scallops entree was fantastic. Leave room for dessert. The view was lovely and the waitstaff was friendly. We just thought the food, for the cost, was not spectacular. A main of 4-5 scallops with risotto was almost $50. No veggie included. The cocktail was no better than a fast casual restaurant. We were disappointed for over $100 for two people. The dessert, however, was great!
Our server Raneil was phenomenal he gave great recommendations and was a pleasure!
Small room on the second floor was very quiet. Especially when compared to many upscale restaurants on the island. Plus an excellent view. When you factor together quality, service and price I rate it as outstanding
